Hollow Logs in Clear Resin
This piece is a solid block of clear epoxy resin with seven hollow tree log sections rising from the bottom towards the top.
The piece measures 2.1m long, 1.1m high and 400mm deep and weighs 650kg.
To achieve the hollow log design in the resin we had to create silicone replicas of the physical (elm) logs and suspend these within a huge form whilst we poured multiple layers of resin.
The piece can be illuminated from within the log hollows to enhance the appearance of the textured resin.
