How to commission a bespoke resin table
From your first idea to the finished piece, here is what to consider when planning a wood and resin or solid cast resin table with Resino.

1. Put together a simple brief
You do not need a finished design to start a conversation. Tell us whether you are planning a dining table, coffee table, desk, meeting table or another bespoke piece, and share the approximate length, width and height.
Photos of the room, a floor plan and a few reference images help explain the setting and the look you want. For dining tables, let us know how many people you would like to seat and whether you have already chosen chairs. Legroom, the position of the base and space around the table all need consideration.
Include your project location, access details, preferred timing and an outline budget. Architects and designers can also send drawings and a material palette through our commercial and trade service.
2. Choose timber, resin and the overall effect
Oak, elm and walnut each bring different grain patterns, tones and natural features. A live-edge river table lets the shape of the timber guide the resin detail; an ocean-inspired design introduces colour and movement. A solid cast resin table explores the resin itself as the main material.
Think about whether you prefer translucent or opaque resin, a subtle tint or a stronger colour, and a more natural or sculptural form. We discuss the possibilities around your brief and the available materials. Timber is individual, so reference photographs guide the direction rather than promise an identical grain pattern.

3. Understand what affects the price
Every table is quoted around its design. The main factors include:
- The table dimensions, thickness and volume of resin.
- The timber species, character and preparation required.
- The complexity of the colour, casting, inlays or decorative details.
- The legs or base, supporting structure and finish.
- Any lighting, cable management or other bespoke features.
- Delivery, access and installation requirements.
When comparing quotes, check whether the price includes the top, base, VAT, delivery and installation. A clear brief helps us explain the options and provide a relevant estimate before the details are developed.
4. Develop samples and agree the design
Bespoke samples can help establish the resin colour, translucency and finish before production. Sampling is quoted for the project. Natural timber and hand-created resin effects will still have individual variation.
We agree the dimensions, shape, edge details, base and relevant drawings before manufacture. Long spans, overhangs and unusual forms may need additional support; these practical details are considered alongside the appearance.
5. Plan the lead time and deposit
Our usual allowance is around two weeks for samples, followed by up to six weeks for final production after sample approval and drawings are agreed. The schedule is confirmed for each commission and can vary with the design, materials and workshop programme.
Our standard deposit is 50%. The quotation confirms the payment terms and what is needed to begin. If you have a fixed installation date, tell us at the enquiry stage so we can discuss feasibility before you commit.
6. Prepare for delivery and installation
Large resin and timber tables can be heavy. Share the delivery address, parking and unloading arrangements, stairs or lifts, doorway widths and any restricted access early in the process. This helps us plan handling, assembly and installation requirements.
Care advice depends on the resin system and final finish. Ask us about the intended use, cleaning and protection for your particular table when we agree the specification.
What to send with your enquiry
- The type of table and approximate dimensions.
- Seating requirements or intended use.
- Preferred timber, resin colour and reference images.
- Your location and delivery access information.
- An outline budget and target dates.
Workshop visits are available by appointment. We can discuss the work and show small material samples and colour options; please arrange your visit with us first.
